This is the first time I used the Battle My Math Ship format and we all loved it. It took my students a little bit to get the hang of the idea. They fought it because they didn't really know how to play battleship but once they got the hang of it (only took about 5 min), they were hooked and didn't want to stop playing. It was also helpful for teaching the next concept of completing the square. Once we added c to both sides to complete the square and change it to a binomial squared, I could tell them "now it's like you did with the battleship game". A big hit and I will be looking to add more of these review/practice ideas throughout the year!
