Hi! I'm Tyra, the creator behind Algebra and Beyond.

I started Algebra and Beyond in 2015 as a way to share the resources I created for my own students with teachers all over the world. As an educational blogger and curriculum designer, my goal is to provide creative, comprehensive, and clear resources that are simple for teachers to implement and helps students connect knowledge with understanding – one lesson at a time.

With over 20 years of experience in education, I have taught middle and high school MATH and BUSINESS courses, including Pre-Algebra, Algebra I & II, Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus, Computer Concepts, Business Principles, and Personal Finance.e. My experience also includes three years as a Curriculum and Learning Director and a year teaching math to students in 1st-5th grade.

I love creating a wide variety of resources, from guided notes and games to self-checking activities, real-world projects, and other fun activities that reinforce learning.

My Bachelor’s degree in Business is from Eastern Illinois University, and my Master’s degree in Secondary Education is from Regis University in Denver, Colorado.
